Talking to the 'Calm' Archaeologist in Anachronia base camp[edit | edit source]

Before having accepted the quest[edit | edit source]

  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: ...the bones are their money, so are the worms...
  • Player: What?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Hey, you! Lend a hand?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: I'm onto a secret. The greatest secret of this entire island.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: The great mystery...of Osseous!
  • (If the Berserk Archaeologist has been killed inside The Zamorakian Undercity:)
    • Player: Wait...Didn't I kill you?
    • 'Calm' Archaeologist: No.
    • Player: I did! In the Zamorakian Undercity!
    • Player: You set Fred on me.
    • 'Calm' Archaeologist: And he's doing just fine, thanks for asking.
    • Player: Isn't he dead?
    • 'Calm' Archaeologist: For now.
    • 'Calm' Archaeologist: I can bring him back, if you want to say hi.
    • Player: That's not necessary.
    • (Continues below.)
  • Player: So what's Osseous?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: 'What's Osseous'? Only the single most important discovery of our age!
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: The bones are so beautiful...
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: When those old fools at the guild see it, they'll regret ever expelling me.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: But first I need to get it up and walking again, and that's where I need you.
  • Player: What do you need me for?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: I've got plans.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Let's call it... Necromantic-supervision.
  • Player: Right...
  • (Quest Overview interface opens.)
    • Nnot Right Now

      • (The interface closes.)
      • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Skipping out on the greatest discovery of a generation? Your loss!
    • Accept Quest

      • (The interface closes.)
      • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Brilliant! The bones are going to be so happy...
      • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Meet me in the lair of the Rex Matriarchs. There, I'll show you more. I can offer you a teleport there if you like?
      • Teleport to Rex Matriarch lair?
        • Yes.

          • The player is teleported outside the Rex Matriarch lair.

        • No.

          • (Dialogue ends.)

After having accepted the quest[edit | edit source]

  • (Same as above.)

Talking to the 'Calm' Archaeologist in Rex Matriarch lair[edit | edit source]

First time[edit | edit source]

  • Player: So what do you need?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: I have discovered something remarkable down here. Nobody else has found this. Nobody!
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: I'll be the name of my generation. The greatest archaeologist who ever lived. The magnificent-!
  • Player: And what is it?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Bones.
  • Player: Bones?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: A big pile of them. All perfect and ready to walk.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: But before I can work my incredible fossilmancy, I have to get them.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: There's an inactive teleporter in the beast's lair below. If you can get it working, it'll take us directly to the beautiful bones.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: It likely needs a dragonkin crystal to work again, and my research indicates you'll be able to find one somewhere in this lair.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: I need to prepare for the fossilmancy ritual. You must continue my work.
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: Explore this lair and find the crystal. Once you've got it, give it to me, and I'll show you the greatest wonder of Anachronia.

Afterwards[edit | edit source]

  • Player: What am I looking for again?
  • 'Calm' Archaeologist: We're looking for a dragonkin crystal to restore a teleport in the beast's lair. It ought to be somewhere in this lair.

Investigating the inactive teleportation device[edit | edit source]

  • Player: It's not working - seems to be missing its teleportation crystal.
  • Player: The archaeologist said one might be found in the dragonkin maze...

Attempting to unlock a gate[edit | edit source]

  • Player: It won't budge. I wonder if there is something around here that will help me unlock it.

Activating the first Ancient Artefact (Inactive)[edit | edit source]
