Job Summary:

The Office of Compliance advances compliance with applicable laws and policies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We collaborate with University partners to minimize compliance risk and promote ethical conduct throughout the University. Compliance is a shared responsibility, with every member of the University understanding their responsibilities and being accountable for their actions.

In response to the new digital accessibility regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, newly expanded Title IX regulations, increased Title VI enforcement, and other related federal compliance mandates, the Office of Compliance is conducting a search for a case manager to support new compliance functions.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Civil Rights Compliance and Title IX Coordinator, the Case Manager is responsible for monitoring incoming reports of protected class discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment and sexual violence, and other complaints. The Case Manager makes initial contact with potential complainants and provides them with relevant resources, reporting information and protective measures when requested. The Case Manager also works to provide necessary accommodations, explains policies and procedures, and is a point of contact during formal investigations.

  • 35% Serves as a primary resource and referral for students, employees, and guests who have experienced discrimination and/or harassment based on a protected class
  • 35% Provides academic/workplace accommodations and/or protective measures when appropriate, including collaborating and consulting with appropriate campus partners regarding appropriate implementation
  • 10% Coordinates referrals to and from various campus partners
  • 10% Records all contacts and communication properly in relevant database(s)
  • 10% Participates in trainings and activities designed to raise awareness of related resources and policies

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

- Two years' work experience providing support services to diverse populations in an advocacy, outreach, education, or case management setting. Experience in an internship or student employment position may meet qualifications based on relevance and degree of responsibility.

- Demonstrated ability to sensitively interact with and provide accurate process information and referral services to a diverse population, in individual settings as well as to larger groups for training purposes.

- Experience proficiently utilizing electronic case management systems, as well as basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience coordinating resources within a large institution and/or across a larger community agency or agencies.

- Experience working with individuals dealing with stressful or traumatic life events.

- Demonstrated experience working with sensitive and/or confidential information with sensitivity, discretion, tact, and professionalism.

- Knowledge of discrimination and harassment and/or sexual misconduct (Title IX) policies in a university or educational setting.

This is primarily an in-person position with a limited amount of remote work available.
