The Episodes section of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is peppered with different paths, each offering an alternate storyline to the canon one we all know and love.

How to Unlock Alternate Routes
You will have to play on default difficulty to unlock all of the alternate endings and routes. Playing on easy will allow you to continue with the story, but will block you from completing any alternate objectives.
There are two ways to unlock alternate routes in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero:
- Choosing different dialogue options.
- Completing alternate objectives.
Unlocking an alternate route can earn you something as simple as a new cutscene, a bonus fight, or unlock a whole new story arc. It's not always obvious where a path diverges, especially while you're playing and the fights continue consecutively.
The best way to check for any alternate routes is in the Story Map.
In the Story Map, you can review the episode you are up to and go back to check past fights. The main storyline progression is shown via a thick, orange line. Alternate routes are shown with a small blue dotted line.
Now that you've identified exactly where the storyline diverges, you need to find out how to unlock the alternate path. You can check this by hovering over the episode and selecting Details to see more information on your objectives.
There, you can see what task you have to complete to move on with the story. Take the Goku's Back episode, for example. In order to continue with the main storyline, you must defeat Frieza using a Spirit Bomb. If you defeat him without using the Spirit Bomb, you will unlock an alternate route where you can watch a special cutscene.
Defeating an enemy without using a certain move is just one way to unlock an alternate route. You can also do so by defeating your opponent within a certain time frame or defeating your opponent without taking much damage.

Goku's Alternate Routes
Goku's storyline is the main one, and it is also the longest. Therefore, he has the most alternative routes to unlock.

Gohan has only five alternate paths and Sparking Episodes to unlock.
